Valise – French; an old fashioned term for a piece of hand luggage.
Constructed on a duck cloth Foundation, the 14″ x 14″ x 5″ Quilter’s Valise is designed to organize: 6 Pockets with Hook and Loop Flaps, 2 Pouches and 2 Slide-In Compartments are sized for a quilter’s tools, while the 3 Inside Patch Pockets handle patterns and personal items.
On the Back is a 12″ x 12″ Featured Block, bordered on all sides. Use your own block or my 9-Patch Drunkard’s Path block. The option of sewing pockets on the Back instead of a Feature Block is also in the pattern.
The Valise is roomy inside. There is an optional recessed zippered top to keep the inside items secure.
Everything is lined. The Flaps are also interfaced for extra body. Strap Handles are sewn between a 2-pieced-Band around the top.
Use a duck cloth Foundation and your favorite fabric collection for this versatile Quilter’s Valise.
This pattern is suggested for intermediate to advanced quilters. It includes 27 pages of instructions and diagrams packaged in a 6″ x 9″ plastic bag.
